Discover Santorini’s coastline, volcanic beauty & the magic of an Aegean sunset
Set sail on a sunset cruise around Santorini aboard one of Water Blue Yachting’s luxury catamarans, where breathtaking landscapes, crystal-clear waters, authentic Greek hospitality, and the golden glow of Santorini’s famous sunset create a truly magical experience at sea.
Your journey begins from Marina Vlychada, Santorini’s charming southern harbor, known for its dramatic moon-like cliffs sculpted by wind and sea over centuries. From here, we sail along the island’s spectacular southern coastline toward the iconic Red Beach, famous for its striking crimson volcanic cliffs and deep sapphire waters — one of Santorini’s most extraordinary natural landmarks. Here, weather permitting, guests enjoy their first opportunity to swim and snorkel in the refreshing waters of the Aegean while surrounded by Santorini’s remarkable volcanic scenery.
Continuing along the coast, we cruise past the dazzling White Beach, a secluded coastal treasure framed by towering pale volcanic cliffs and crystal-clear turquoise waters, before making our way toward the peaceful bay of Mesa Pigadia — a hidden volcanic cove perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and enjoying Santorini’s untouched natural beauty.
Our voyage then carries us beneath the dramatic cliffs of Black Mountain (Mavro Vouno) and past the historic Akrotiri Lighthouse, one of Greece’s oldest lighthouses, standing proudly at Santorini’s southwestern edge where endless panoramic views stretch across the Aegean Sea.
From there, we sail into the breathtaking heart of Santorini — the world-famous Caldera, formed by one of the most significant volcanic eruptions in recorded history. Here, we cruise toward the island’s legendary Volcano & Volcanic Hot Springs, where guests may enjoy a unique swim in warm, mineral-rich sulphurous waters shaped by Santorini’s living volcanic landscape.
Following our volcanic experience, we anchor in a sheltered bay, selected according to weather conditions, for one final refreshing swim while our crew prepares a delicious freshly made Greek dinner onboard, accompanied by local wine, refreshing beverages, and the laid-back rhythm of island life.
As the afternoon gently turns to evening, weather permitting, sails are raised and we begin our leisurely return journey across the shimmering Aegean, just as Santorini begins to glow beneath the colors of sunset .
We return to Marina Vlychada with twilight settling over the island, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Santorini experienced from its most beautiful perspective — from the sea.
Please note: The itinerary may vary slightly depending on weather and sea conditions, always prioritizing guest comfort and safety.
One of Santorini’s most extraordinary natural wonders, Red Beach was formed through volcanic activity that shaped the island thousands of years ago, creating its dramatic crimson cliffs and rust-colored sands. Considered one of the world’s rare red-sand beaches — and among only a handful globally — its striking landscape feels almost otherworldly, making it one of Santorini’s most iconic sights.
Carved by Santorini’s powerful volcanic history, White Beach was formed over thousands of years through layers of volcanic ash, pumice stone, lava deposits, and mineral-rich rock shaped by eruption, wind, and sea. Its towering pale cliffs — created largely from light volcanic pumice, compacted ash, and mineral sediments — give the beach its striking white appearance, beautifully contrasted by the deep cobalt waters of the Aegean. Accessible only by sea, this secluded coastal sanctuary offers a rare glimpse into Santorini’s extraordinary geological story, where raw natural beauty and crystal-clear waters create one of the island’s most enchanting swimming spots.
Nestled beneath Santorini’s dramatic southern cliffs, Mesa Pigadia is a quiet volcanic cove known for its deep crystal-clear waters, rugged beauty, and authentic island character. Once used as a small fishermen’s refuge, today it remains one of Santorini’s hidden gems — a peaceful escape where natural caves, dark pebbled shores, and striking rock formations create a truly unique swimming spot.
Towering from Santorini’s southern coastline, Black Mountain is a powerful reminder of the island’s volcanic origins. Its dark dramatic cliffs, formed from ancient lava and volcanic rock, create one of the most striking natural landmarks along the island’s coast — raw, wild, and beautifully untouched.
Standing proudly on Santorini’s southwestern edge since the late 19th century, Akrotiri Lighthouse is one of Greece’s oldest lighthouses and one of the island’s most romantic viewpoints. Surrounded by dramatic cliffs and endless Aegean blue, it marks the meeting point of sea, sky, and Santorini’s timeless maritime heritage.
At the center of Santorini’s caldera lies the island’s volcanic heart — the Volcano & Hot Springs, where warm sulphurous waters, rich in minerals, flow into the sea from underwater volcanic activity. Their distinctive amber-colored waters and natural warmth offer visitors a unique chance to swim in Santorini’s living volcanic landscape.
